Bob and Doug McKenzie in The Christmas Song

In the video The Christmas Song, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a skit which was streamed on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to CBC Television in . The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as a joke to both please and mock stupid Canadian content laws, the duo morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The pair soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
