In the video The Dave Thomas Blues Band playing live at The Trafford Arms Beer Festival Norwich, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hysterical Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as an idea to both satisfy and make fun of silly Canadian content laws, the characters turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
