In the video The Dave Thomas Comedy Show – Chevy Chase and Martin Short, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of odd Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a improv which was included on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it got sold to CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was made originally as filler to both please and laugh about silly Canadian content guidelines, the brothers became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and America. The two later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
