In the video The Dave Thomas Comedy Show- Johnny Jay Folsom, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian actors who created “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it aired by CBC Television in 1980. Bob’s part is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was born originally as a joke to both satisfy and makes jokes about network Canadian content policies, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The pair later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
