Even thoughFamously created originally as filler to both please and laugh at annoying Canadian content rules, the pair morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

The Dave Thomas Comedy Show (later simply Dave Thomas) was a sketch-based, half-hour, five-week summer replacement series, which aired on CBS in the summer of 1990. The show starred Canadian comedian Dave Thomas, who is best known for an earlier sketch comedy series, SCTV. Thomas himself served as head writer, while the writing staff included Hollywood scriptwriter Ed Solomon and Mike Myers. The series debuted May 28, 1990.

this is so cool to see a full episode of the Dave Thomas Comedy Show, i was an extra on one of them that was shot in 1990, as the show from what i heard was a summer replacement show. i was an extra playing a Sam Kenison look-a-like, that co-starred Richard Belzer and Martin Short, set in a 1990's ear comedy club, Dave didn't like the changing of the stand up scene, which was the Andrew Dice Clay, in your face style, and Marty Short played a character based on him, i was one of four "Kinison" dressed fans who loved Martin Shorts routine, then Dave gets up on stage & we all start booing him and throwing refuse at him, empty beer cans etc, i never saw it on air, hopefully a copy will show up, such a treat to see this
