In the video The Dave Thomas Comedy Show- Superman the Mover + Martin Short Outro, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hilarious Canadian comedians who created “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s part is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is created by comic Dave Thomas. Although created originally as a skit to both please and laugh about network Canadian content statutes, the duo became a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
