Bob and Doug McKenzie in The Dave Thomas Comedy Show: The Humiliator

In the video The Dave Thomas Comedy Show: The Humiliator, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a segment which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it streamed by CBC Television in in the early 80s. The character Bob McKenzie is played by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Although created originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and laugh about silly Canadian content statutes, the characters turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the States. The brothers became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
