In the video The Day the Crayons Quit – Animated Read Aloud, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hysterical Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s partThe character Bob is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. Despite made originally as a sketch to both satisfy and laugh about legal Canadian content policies, the characters turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the States. The characters later became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
