Bob’s part is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug is acted by comic Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as a skit to both satisfy and mock non sensical Canadian content legislation, the characters became a pop culture success in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
