Bob and Doug McKenzie in The Driftwood Inn Lives!
In the video The Driftwood Inn Lives!, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian comedians who starred in “Great White North”, a improv which was featured on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it aired by CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is played by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Which was made originally as a joke to both please and laugh at silly Canadian content legislation, the duo grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The brothers went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
I always got a kick out of the SCTV Driftwood Inn spots so I made one of my own for some reason. The Driftwood Lives.

It's never wrong to remember SCTV.
This is really awesome, Rob! I have always been a huge fan of the original Driftwood spots. I love to pause over those reviews that pop up and disappear so quickly on your updated version. And you've put your finger exactly on the younger generations, with everything from "life partners," to beards, to the little knit caps, to the "retro." Brilliant!
