In the video The Fella Who Couldn’t Wait For Christmas – Ed Grimley, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of odd Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was made originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about annoying Canadian content guidelines, the pair became a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The characters went on to become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
