Just read on CNN about Bennett being a jazz artist who knew no such thing as racism and always tried to build bridges with the most diverse and unlikely of collaborators. I saw this segment on a repeat in the '90s and was so afraid the hoseheads would botch this opportunity with a real legend… but everything worked out great! I really like to believe Tony really wanted to be of the Great White North and not just because the script said so! R.I.P.
I was 22 when this aired & got chills feeling that a star was RE-born. So good. (Tony's son = genius manager.)
Rest in Peace, Tony Bennett. Absolute legend. This beer's for you!
"You bet I want a beer. I've been wanting one all day."
Rest in peace Mr Bennett ❤
Rest in Peace Tony Bennett. Beauty, eh.
probably the sweetest thing tony bennett has ever done.
Cold beers, donuts (jellies preferred), bacon, and enough money to buy maple syrup. I'm living the dream you set me on eh?
Where’s the beer? No beer, no way.
Beauty! Tony Bennett and the MacKenzie brothers. What could be better, eh?
Pass ME a beer eh
Beautiful. Bennett's serenade at the end was the cherry on top.
I remember when this came out. I swear this episode launched Tony Bennett back into his career. It got him back started

It is a shame that SCTV was never shot in front of an audience.
