Bob and Doug McKenzie in The Great White North Geddy Lee & The McKenzie Brothers

In the video The Great White North Geddy Lee & The McKenzie Brothers, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hysterical Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a sketch which was featured on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. The character Bob McKenzie is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although born originally as filler to both follow guidelines and make fun of dumb Canadian content policies, the pair grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
