Bob and Doug McKenzie in “The Halloween” – Ep 159

In the video “The Halloween” – Ep 159, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of made up Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it got sent to CBC Television in in the early 80s. The character Bob McKenzie is played by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Which was created originally as a sketch to both satisfy and make fun of annoying Canadian content rules, the pair morphed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and America. The brothers went on to become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
