Bob McKenzie is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is acted by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was made originally as an idea to both fulfill and mock non sensical Canadian content statutes, the pair morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The two became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
