Bob and Doug McKenzie in THE MIKESTAND – 4/18/23

In the video THE MIKESTAND – 4/18/23, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of strange Canadian comedians who created “Great White North”, a sketch which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s third season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. It was made originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh at legal Canadian content rules, the pair transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
