Bob and Doug McKenzie in The New Music Bob and Doug McKenzie (1981)

In the video The New Music Bob and Doug McKenzie (1981), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hilarious Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on SCTV for the show’s third season when it moved to CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob’s character is performed by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by Dave Thomas. Which was made originally as an idea to both fulfill and mock legal Canadian content laws, the characters transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The characters became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
