Bob and Doug McKenzie in The Plasmatics on The Fishin’ Musician SCTV
In the video The Plasmatics on The Fishin’ Musician SCTV, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of strange Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a program which was televised on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob McKenzie is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as an idea to both please and mock stupid Canadian content rules, the duo turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the States. The two soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Wendy O’Williams and the Plasmatics drop by Scuttle Butt lodge to visit with Gil. Another SCTV classic.

Brilliant.
The dog turned white .
When Toronto was cool. So sad to see how boring, generic and talentless it has become. This is what happens when you replace the population with 3rd world refugees.
I have that album. My fave track is the ingredients song: "gum acacia, hydrogenated oil, potato starch, bring to a boil". I still remember the lyrics. Rip Wendy. Rockin in the afterlife. We remember. Wrecking the set.. brilliant.
KlassiK
Fuck yeah
Every time I buy electrical tape I think of Wendy!
She used the Pentacle on stage before Motley Crue did
RIP Wendy ❤
Just good wholesome family entertainment. RIP to 2 super talented artists gone too soon, John Candy and WOW!!!
Ah….takes me back. Great memories. #PlasmaticsForever #LegendsNeverDie #HappyBirthdayWendy
this is probably the best fishin' musician…close tie with the Tubes but W. O. Williams is the anti Gil…lol
Use to cry when Wendy cuts classic Les Pauls in half with chain saw. .like damm!!
peak TV comedy, Wendy O was scorchin'
I saw the Plasmatics when I was age 15 or 16 in Westchester NY. I wasn't supposed to be there but I had a fake ID, lol. Around 1980. Memories. She had on taped black garbage bags and tore them off to expose her tits with electricians tape over her nipples while she chain sawed a junk car and everything else on stage before a fake cop ran her off, it was so hilarious and awesome, especially back then in a small club! I'm also a huge SCTV fan but don't remember this one (I probably was in bootcamp when it aired in 81). Now I'm close to 60 and very happy to watch this, thanks for posting!
They trashed his cabin! LOL!
Wendy O's nipples! Wow! I guess that's why this show came on at 12:30 AM!
Willie Nelson! LOL!
RIP WOW
Rock'n'wreck.
Dang Dracula is getting down on the guitar lol
Coup d'etat, the greatest LP in history.
O cachorro até mudou de cor
Omg so fun
I hate Hippocrates
The dog changed color, absolutely hilarious!
I saw this after wrestling as a kid, it messed me up. Made me Plasmatics/Wendy fan for life though
John & Wendy together in the same gig, I love it..
This is the best. The dog's fur going white at the end was funny as hell. Wendy O Williams will be missed.
She should have been President of the United States of America
The Heavy Metlers,lol.
famous
I was born and raised in the US but lived close to both Vancouver and Victoria BC; most of the TV stations we got were from Canada (before cable anyway). I love seeing these old clips that I remember from when they first ran- they bring me right back to how my life was when I was just starting out on my own.
