In the video The Podcask at Home: 12 Days of Christmas (Day 4), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of odd Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a improv which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. The character Bob McKenzie is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is played by comic Dave Thomas. Although made originally as fluff to both satisfy and laugh about stupid Canadian content demands, the two transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and America. The characters later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
