Bob and Doug McKenzie in The Rick Moranis Project – The Purple Haze

In the video The Rick Moranis Project – The Purple Haze, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hilarious Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was created originally as a skit to both satisfy and laugh about annoying Canadian content policies, the pair turned into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the US. The characters enetually would become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
