In the video The Seven Days Of Shiva, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian actors who hosted “Great White North”, a program which was aired on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it got sold to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is created by actor Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh at network Canadian content statutes, the characters transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The characters went on to become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
