Bob and Doug McKenzie in “The Shining Sea’ – Michelle Benjamin with Doug McKenzie

In the video “The Shining Sea’ – Michelle Benjamin with Doug McKenzie, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hysterical Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a show which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s character is created by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was made originally as fluff to both fulfill and mock non sensical Canadian content guidelines, the brothers turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The brothers soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
