Bob and Doug McKenzie in The Skeleton’s Waltz

In the video The Skeleton’s Waltz, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian siblings who hosted “Great White North”, a segment which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s third season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Which was created originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about silly Canadian content legislation, the duo transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and across the border. The two soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
