  1. I never knew the Spyro demo was in Crash way back when. I did play the demo though. I had a ps1 disc that had a lot of demos of various upcoming games, but I was so young I couldn't tell you where it came from. A cereal box maybe. Could you buy demo discs in stores back in the day? Or maybe my mom got it from work? Idk. I remember the disc also had the demo for MediEvil on it.

I never cared about the other games besides Spyro though. The demo had the whole Artisan realm that you could play through, but when you talked to the Balloonist he said 'come back in September!' This was of course a reference to the fact that the game would be coming out that month, but me, being very young, was convinced that this meant if I talked to him on my birthday (which happened to be in September), something good would happen.

So you can imagine my disappointment that demo discs don't work like that. lol

Luckily my mom caught me crying about it, and I ended up getting the game as a belated birthday gift.

  2. The theory of Dawn of the Dragon leading into Skylanders has already been debunked by Skylanders’ own lore, stating that the ancients created Skylands using Mind Magic

  3. I'm gonna once again bring up my tinfoil hat theory regarding the music in Spyro 3 because it feels tangentially relevant to the idea of hidden obscure trivia:
I am convinced that, even in the Greatest Hits version of 3, the music is still slightly wrong. I believe the track that has consistently been used for Spike's Arena was meant to be the Sorceress's battle theme and vice versa. Why? Well the blatant nods to Agent 9's leitmotif in Spike's theme are the main reason, but also, doesn't the Sorceress theme feel a bit… undramatic? for final boss music? Especially compared to Spike's?

  4. yes! finally! a spyro iceberg video that actually acknowledges Legend of Spyro AND Skylanders! whether some people like I or not, they ARE part of the series, and they have a ton of trivia to practically warrant their own icebergs… in any case, I'm at least glad to see them mentioned :p

  5. Edit: 113…. Hmmmm. Makes me wonder if Spyro is like that old still?? And just young for a dragon because dragons can live for a long time, perhaps??

Even if he's like say 54 that'd means the Elders could be a thousand or older! Interesting…..

At 25:54: if its difficulty is so "easy" then why is Lost Fleet's skateboarding challenge still nearly unbeatable??

They'd screw up with that one and the Super Bonus round versions???

  6. I loved this retrospective! I didn't realize Tom Clancy did all those Dragon's voices. I knew he did the voice of the original Cortex and Baron Praxis in Jak 2. I found it all very interesting having being a kid when Spyro came on to the scene. I played the Reignited Trilogy this year and loved it. Thanks for doing this great iceberg video into Spyro!

  7. Hey dude. Long time no see or comment via livestream. Suuuch a busy summer but now that things have cooled off I'll be returning for more and more Spyro/Crash discussions than months previous. Just wanted to mention that without watching even watching an increment of this iceberg video that the creators' version of a dragon was literally a t-rex with wings exploring about and collecting objects. The rest is clouded out 'cause this was based off a year's worth of info memoryxD

  8. Skylanders was such a mistake. I honestly don't know what they were thinking. I wish you touched more on the other spyro games too. Like the gameboy advance and the ps2 games. Also missed the spyro movie that was meant to happen. But that was for the dawn of the dragon. Also, we have heard of the Pierre name fact before??????

  9. Three things no one's gonna really care about but for anyone who wants to read this, here you go. 1. When I was little, I basically headcanoned that Gildas from Stone Hill was Spyro's dad. I don't know why other than I thought he was really nice and seems very fatherly I guess. The Reignited design just kinda cements that for me. 2. Half of my family has the "3d sickness" and cannot play it or even watch someone else play it for more than 10 minutes or else they'll get sick. Luckily I didn't inherit that… 3. Did anyone else who looked in the manual and saw the adult Spyro get really excited that they might make a game where you actually get to fly around?

another thing I'm not really sure about but I hope someone maybe can help me with… when I was a kid I vividly remember playing this game on an Xbox 360 that I thought was Dawn of the Dragon (since I knew in that game you had free flight.) But it wasn't. In this game it was like TRUE free flight and you weren't connected to anybody else. I remember you could collect fire and magic increase items like in Eternal Night. I'm wondering if anyone somehow knows what I'm talking about or if that was just the most realistic dream I've ever had.
