Bob and Doug McKenzie in The Twelve Days of Christmas

In the video The Twelve Days of Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of fictional Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was introduced on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is created by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although made originally as filler to both fulfill and make fun of stupid Canadian content rules, the brothers turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The pair soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
