Bob is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by comic Dave Thomas. It was created originally as a joke to both please and mock legal Canadian content statutes, the brothers morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
