Bob and Doug McKenzie in The Twelve Daze of Christmas (Steve Ivings)
In the video The Twelve Daze of Christmas (Steve Ivings), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hysterical Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a sketch which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was aired on CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was developed originally as a joke to both satisfy and laugh at stupid Canadian content legislation, the pair turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers enetually would become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
My first “hit single” is still played on a lot of stations every Christmas. A lot of the voices are dated now but they were pretty hot when the single was recorded. Enjoy.

I bought this 45 when it was issued, and misplaced it many years ago.
I recently found it, and now I have this treasure to share with everyone!
Thank you!
Been looking for this for years, heard it in the 1980's on an obscure AM station Overnight during the Christmas Season & never heard it since.
You don't know how long I've been searching for this!!! This 'album' was a big part of my childhood memories around Christmas time in the early 1980s. My Dad had either bought it or received it as a gift and me and my sister would play it over, and over and over again! We were avid listeners of CFAX 1070 growing up in Victoria, BC.
Many thanks Steve for uploading these! I'm going to pass them along to my Dad and sister for a stroll down memory lane this Christmas!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I first heard this back in the late 80's on CKOC out of Hamilton, ON. LOVED it, and could not get enough of it. But, could never catch the artist. Took me until 2019 to finally find it on YouTube from someone else, and then it appeared in iTunes. And now, in 2020, I see that you have posted it yourself. SHARING!!!
