Bob and Doug McKenzie in The Twelve Pains Of Christmas – Twisted Christmas
In the video The Twelve Pains Of Christmas – Twisted Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of imaginaryfunny Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was aired on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it got sold to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s part is performed by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite made originally as a sketch to both fulfill and mock silly Canadian content statutes, the brothers turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The brothers went on to become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

"Hangovers"
If there was more than 12 days,…
Dressing up like Santa
I'm thinking they didn't include that because there was another song about that on the same album.
Aww Edith get me a beeeah, heh? LMAO
This is the best meaning of Xmas
GET A JOB, YA BUM!
You see, George? If you just embraced Festivus, you wouldn't have to worry about the lights!
I can relate to so many of these by the time Christmas finally rolls around..
one of the greatest Christmas songs EVER!!!! By far!!!!
even today, decades after this song was produced, many of the things in the song are still relevant
This always cracks my mom and me up every Christmas. The "Hangovers" and "Lights" guys were our favorites!
I love that I want a transformer for Christmas, and facing the inlaws
takes me back to the late 90's good times
BUY ME SOMETHING!!!! XD
Nostalgia overload !! Merry Christmas everyone !
yup sp true
Lots of people yelling at each other by the end of this song!
The music video for this song was kinda low budget, I take it,
and never made it to either V66 or Turkey Television on Nickelodeon.
'cause both those things ended in 1986!
I always have loved the "rigging the lights" lines. Always gets me to laugh.
It's like a musical Christmas comedy that falls apart towards the end, with the arguing and the crying…
This is by far my absolute favorite parody of this song! I especially liked the part where the guy said “FINE! You’re so smart? You rig up the lights!” I literally laughed my damn head off every time I hear that!
We had this album years ago glad it’s on here now
I always loved Bob Rivers
I always loved this kind of Christmas music the dirty kind
FINE, YOU'RE SO SMART, YOU RIG UP THE LIGHTS.
Wish they still played this on the Radio. What a shame. I wonder what someone got offended from…
On the fifth chance, My dad originally does too, But he payed off all 5 months!
Most relatable Christmas song EVER! XD
BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED!
GET A JOB, YA BUM!
WHAT, WE HAVE NO EXTENSION CORD?
HANGOVERS
Rigging up the lights with a hangover
DADDY I WANT SOME CANDY!
Rigging up the lights channels my father so perfectly
The only acceptable Christmas song.
Alternate ending:
Instead of them singing "And finding a Christmas tree", the song would end with someone singing "And sitting on top of a tree", possibly followed by "Ow!".
I have this on LP
"I'm not sending them this year that's it."
"FINE, YOU'RE SO SMART, YOU RING UP THE LIGHTS!!!"
