In the video The VHS Boy: GHOSTBUSTERS Movie 1984 – Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of strange Canadian brothers who starred in “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in . Bob is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as filler to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about dumb Canadian content demands, the pair transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
