In the video The Wild Life – A Very 80s Rick Moranis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian family members who starred in “Great White North”, a show which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it moved to CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. Which was created originally as filler to both follow guidelines and laugh about silly Canadian content demands, the two transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The characters became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
