‘Too Late Now’ – Michelle Benjamin with Doug McKenzie. Another song we recorded recently. My apologies to Michelle for cutting the top of her head! All of these videos are ‘one-takes’, and there always seems to be some small thing wrong, if not with the sound then with the video – the framing or lighting.
With this one, I replaced my Yamaha piano’s audio I recorded at the time, and used the Ivory Italian Grand software to record the piano track from the original midi file recorded at the same time as the video was filmed. The midi file was also used to create the notation, and piano view. Download at

  1. Beautiful Michele and Doug! First heard this song on a Jane Monheit album and I love the way the two of you performed it. You may have cut Michelle's head in the video, but her voice comes through sweet and clear.

  2. I found it ! Amongst hundreds of songs not posted in YouTube. My friend, Ginzo, was kind enough to post it in YouTube and is trying right now to counter-post it to yours. What a pity, we are not living in the same city! I would invite my former students and they would listen to the two of you and maybe once in a while to me. Greetings from Kyoto! Wolf

  3. Hi Doug,
I haven´t heard this song before – beautiful stuff. And your playing as usual very exciting. The Ivory Grand sounds great. I am going to try that too.
    Keep swingin´
    Bruno
