In the video Top 10 Canadian Comedians REACTION, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob is performed by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was born originally as a skit to both fulfill and makes jokes about dumb Canadian content rules, the pair became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

The actors in your video presentation have all appeared in movies. Unfortunately, Rick Mercer was not a movie actor, however I believe he could have done so, successfully.

Phil Hartman also enjoyed a (unfortunately short) run on "Saturday Night Live".

Wayne and Schuster. Don Herron who played Charlie Farquarson on Hee Haw and elsewhere. Jonny Harris is hilarious and insightful like the best stand-up comedians are.

John Candy was by far the greatest , so much so , that the Canadian version of the Oscars , The Juno awards are unofficially called the Candy Awards
This list would not exist without the trailblazing talent of Wayne and Schuster! All of these comedians would have had a much harder time breaking into the American market if Wayne and Schuster hadn't been so popular with Ed Sullivan!

1 – Solid enough list, but in the end the medium is too general and too short. Leaves a lot of good talent out and as you say – somewhat subjective. This video does give a decent general showcase of Canadian talent however. (eh?)
2 – Never heard the "some Canadians hate Norm McDonald" thing before. Sounds made-up. I'm sure "some" do. But I have my doubts it's a significant number of people.
3 – Canadian Bacon was good, but it's entirely possible it's funnier to Canadians. In a tongue-in-cheek fashion, it kind of makes fun of people who are ignorant, both about Canada, and in General.
4 – Marin Short is TOTALLY a Legend. No Question. IMDB him and go through the list, you'll probably be surprised at quite a few more.
5 – Leslie Nielsen, and especially Seth Rogen: The rest of the world calls their demeanor "Deadpan humor". We call this: "Being Canadian". But yeah, Seth Rogen is almost a walking Canadian Stereotype. I definitely knew a few Seth Rogen clones growing up.
a few Scottish stereotypes I've come across:
– A bottle in one hand, sporran in the other.
– Mostly boiled food.
– Red hair is common
– Not huge fans of England or the monarchy
– Curling and Golf
Not a great list. While they are funny, there are too many to list not even being mentioned.
Air Farce cast new and old were fantastic.
22 Minutes cast new and old are hilarious. Where is Marge Delahunty when you need her?
Canadian Bacon is a decent movie but The Great Outdoors is even better.
If you haven't seen it, Men With Brooms is one of the many Leslie Neilson movies worth watching.
