In the video Tower Defense – “In the City” (Official Video), Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a skit which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is created by Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was created originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and laugh about dumb Canadian content guidelines, the characters morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The characters soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
The titular track from the Tower Defense full-length album, IN THE CITY. Featuring Rick Moranis, Christopher Reeve, Jane Curtin, Iman, Sally Kirkland, Doug E Fresh and a couple of the Ramones.
