In the video Transforming Programming – Dave Thomas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of made up Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was shown on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it aired by CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob is acted by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by actor Dave Thomas. Which was born originally as a skit to both please and laugh about stupid Canadian content laws, the duo became a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
