In the video TrekCast Ep 212:How to get the free Beers eh, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hilarious Canadian comedians who starred in “Great White North”, a skit which was shown on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it was featured on CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and laugh at network Canadian content policies, the two morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie brothers became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
