Thanks to Jimmy Pardo on Never Not Funny for leading me here
Completely JAP! aneeeese!
*the part where there’s literally two turning Japanese girls kills me
Pure hilarity
where do the japaneees come from?
That's not Moranis. That's Todd Monroe.
Saw this decades ago when it first aired and laughed my a$$ off. Turning Japanese, by The Vapors, was a catchy little post-punk one-hit-wonder song.
Saturday Night Live – with all it's expensive production and writers and big stars – could never hold a candle to SCTV.
Brilliant, eh?
Actual genius.
Welcome to the Holiday Inn, Holiday Lounge! Rick will be here all week, and takes requests!
Very partridge
Him becoming an award winning country singer after retiring from acting makes total sense now. Never heard Moranis sing before, he's got a good voice.
that’s not really Rick Moranis voice is it?
This made me laugh really hard
Confirmed: Richard Cheese is an SCTV fan.
Richard Cheese took mad notes.
I swear to God I would buy this guy’s album
1000x better than the original
It would be funnier without the title, because half of the fun is the few moments it takes you to figure out what song he's singing.
Killer arrangement. Aside from the satire, it stands alone as a well performed and arranged tune.
No doubt this is where Richard Cheese got his style
Great job. Rick.
Still kills me 40 years on.
If not for anything else he nailed the song.
The song is about masterbation.
Richard Cheese isn't half as awesome as this.
Maybe the greatest thing on YouTube ever.
From the Gerry Todd show
That Canuck sure can sing! Turning Jap…… paneeeeeeez!
I'd love to see Moranis and Bill Murray sing a duet!
The song is about masturbation.
Brilliant show, SCTV.
did they know or not know that the original song is about Masturbation? LOL
This is what the word Genius stands for. So over the top funny. It is a work of art. Hard core shit.
This would never fly today.
1979???
The belt and shoes are the icing on this cake.
I actually thought this was Richard Cheese dubbed over the video!
this is the very best parody ever
The original Richard Cheese.
I would the shocked if this is where he got the idea.
When you watch Dave Grohl on HotOnes and search for Chevy Metals version and find this gem instead.
Love this song classic
I have this on DVD
lol
I remember the original song and this lounge spoof from the early '80s. What a time warp!
When Polaroids were King.
