In the video Twelve Days of Christmas performed by Bob and Doug McKenzie, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a sketch which was televised on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as a joke to both satisfy and laugh at network Canadian content statutes, the pair became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
