In the video Twelve Days of Christmas – Time Capsule To 3030 A.D. From Way Back, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian comedians who created “Great White North”, a skit which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob is played by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as an idea to both fulfill and laugh at stupid Canadian content rules, the pair morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The two soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
