SMH, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on second city television for the show’s third season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is acted by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is created by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as fluff to both please and laugh about network Canadian content guidelines, the characters turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
