In the video UnderWorld 148 “Bob & Doug McKenzie action figures by McFarlane Toys”, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of strange Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it streamed by CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is played by Rick Moranis and Doug is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and laugh about network Canadian content demands, the pair turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The pair enetually would become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

I loved watching them on SCTV back in the day! Really cool to see these figures!
You should check out Bob & Doug McKenzie's Two-Four Anniversary which is out on DVD. It was basically a special celebrating Bob and Doug that aired on Canadian TV with famous people telling about what an influence they are. Between the segments are new sketches by them and it's one of the only times Rick Moranis came out of his self-imposed exile.
There was an animated series too but it isn't very good in my opinion and also Rick Moranis refused to lend his voice to it which disappointed me greatly.
who knew action figures SCTV WAAYYYY better than SNL except for season 1 and 2 need to revisit the movie………

I believe those are cases of Molson! Figures are cool! I've seen Strange Brew a couple 3 times growing up and rented it once like 10 years ago, I think the show was really where it was at! Nice review sir!
I know these guys! Been awhile since I've seen their movie. Last I heard from them is when they did voice overs for a couple of Moose on Brother Best. Lol I know, ironic. :p Pretty epic though that they have their own action figures, who would've known that they'd get their own figures! haha Just awesome, man. 🙂

Bob & Doug reunited in Disney's Brother Bear. Favorite moments from Strange Brew… Doug saves the day by drinking all the beer, preventing the heroes from drowning in the vats and pees to stop the brewery fire set by villain Max Von Syndow. Dog Hosehead flies to save the day at Oktoberfest. Great stuff Count. Enjoyed the memories.
