In the video Unlikely Comedic Rivalry Second City vs Bob and Doug McKenzie, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hilarious Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s part is played by Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by comic Dave Thomas. Although created originally as a joke to both please and laugh at stupid Canadian content guidelines, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
