In the video Vancouver diner hosting Rick Moranis-themed art show, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hilarious Canadian actors who hosted “Great White North”, a program which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is acted by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as a skit to both satisfy and mock silly Canadian content statutes, the two morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The brothers soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
A popular Vancouver diner is hosting an art show with one distinctly Canadian twist. Main Street’s The Wallflower is proudly presenting an exhibition themed around beloved Canadian actor Rick Moranis until the end of November.
