In the video Vinyl Community Part 5 of an Amazing Haul, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hilarious Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was aired on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was aired on CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s part is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as a joke to both please and make fun of annoying Canadian content legislation, the characters morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The two soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
