In the video Vinyl Haul #17 – April 2018 – INDIE / Now With Music Clips!, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian family members who can been seen in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as a sketch to both fulfill and make fun of legal Canadian content rules, the pair became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The characters enetually would become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
