Bob and Doug McKenzie in Vinz Clortho, Keymaster of Gozer

In the video Vinz Clortho, Keymaster of Gozer, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a improv which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s character is played by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as an idea to both satisfy and laugh about stupid Canadian content statutes, the siblings turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The McKenzie siblings went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
