Bob and Doug McKenzie in Waking Dream

In the video Waking Dream, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hilarious Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was televised on SCTV for the show’s third season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob is played by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. It was made originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and laugh at network Canadian content laws, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
