In the video Wendys Christmas Commercial with Dave Thomas from 1990, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s character is performed by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Which was created originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and mock network Canadian content rules, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The brothers enetually would become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
