Dave Thomas’s daughter, Wendy, & my voice as Dave Thomas., Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as an idea to both please and laugh about network Canadian content rules, the two morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The two soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
