In the video We’re here without you Rick Moranis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of fictional Canadian brothers who can been seen in “Great White North”, a segment which was televised on SCTV for the show’s third season when it was aired on CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is performed by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as a joke to both please and mock annoying Canadian content guidelines, the two morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
