The character Bob McKenzie is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as a skit to both satisfy and laugh about legal Canadian content policies, the brothers turned into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and America. The two became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
